The operation of the Cyprus Electronic Registry of Guarantees of Origin shall be governed by the relevant legal and regulatory framework in force in the Republic of Cyprus.
Under the current legal and regulatory framework, the body responsible for the operation and management of the Cyprus Electronic Registry of Guarantees of Origin is the Transmission System Operator (TSO).
Under the current legal and regulatory framework, the body responsible for overseeing the operation of the Cyprus Electronic Registry of Guarantees of Origin is the Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority (CERA).
Personal data, accounts and user sessions
The personal contact data a user enters in ER (name, personal email address, personal telephone number) are available to TSO to use in accordance with its role in the operation of ER.
The name and personal e-mail address of each user are used as ER records their actions and, as a result, are potentially visible to bodies involved in the operation of ER (Transmission System Operator; Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority; Management Committee of the Special Fund for RES and Energy Saving; the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism; Electricity Authority of Cyprus) as well as entities (producers / suppliers of renewable energy from RES and/or HPCHP) entitled to register in ER.
The password of a user in EM data is secret and must not be shared with others.
The account access restoration question is used to confirm the identity of users entering the process of recovering their passwords. Its response is to be treated as confidential information which the user should not shared with others. The user must select the account access recovery question so that only he/she can answer it correctly.
ER users have a personal responsibility to take measures to protect their accounts and sessions with ER and not allow, intentionally or not, their hijacking by others.
Company Data, Installation Data, and GO Data
The official records kept in ER for registered companies, installations and GO are treated as public data, except for action logs, any documents attached to applications and the following fields: a company's Tax Identification Number (TIN) and the list of users acting as administrators of a company or installation. Electronic applications are not treated as public data.
Producers and suppliers of energy from RES / HP-CHP registered in ER have full access, through their authorised users, to information currently held about their company, their installations and the GO they have in their possession or have submitted for a grant. They have the same access as the general public to all other company, installation, and GO data.
TSO and CERA users have access to the all applications and official records of companies, installations and GO held by ER. Access to these data, is also granted, to the extent this is required for the fulfilment of their duties within ER, to: Management Committee of the Special Fund for RES and Energy Saving; Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism; Electricity Authority of Cyprus.
